It's Really Cold!

If you're wondering how a kid who grew up in Arizona is doing right now in the middle of winter in Argentina....cold, he's really cold and then someone tells him winter starts in June

If I could relate these last 5 days of work into a song, it would be "Blessings" by Big Sean, because we were for real blessed fr. We met some fr elect these past few days it was mad dubz

I'll tell you guys about our friend Claudio. He's well he's just a little odd. First off, he was born here in Argentina and is Argentino but thinks he's from Brasil. Its so funny, he always sends us texts in Portugese and his phone is in Portugese it makes no sense but bro pulled up to church somehow haha. He calls me "United States" and he calls my comp "Chile" its so funny but he like loves us "mormons"it's hilarious. He's always talking about how Mormons know how to learn and he wants to learn from us. But after church me and my comp were just like "bro let's challenge this homie to be baptized" so we read him a quick scripture about baptism and he goes..."How can I make an appointment to be baptized" so now he's on date for next Sunday haha

So Sunday afternoon we were "attempting" to teach this man the restoration, and I say attempting because well, we taught him the first vision and he looks at the photo of Joseph Smith seeing God and he goes "wow this is just like Kung-fu Panda" oh my I absolutely lost it. I was laughing so hard, my comp had to finish the lesson, I was absolutely out of it. Bro's ready for his baptism interview trust

We also put some mom and her kid on date on Thursday and they pulled up to church too. The kid is a straight dawg, left his primary class with a book of mormon in his hand saying he was going to read all of it. But now me and my comp are stressing because the mom like got into a fight with the owner of her house and we like can't pass by her house right now, so everyone pray for Eva and Owen porfi

That was my short little week, love yall

Relief

I would describe this week as just a big sigh of relief ya know, but I'm writing yall on Wednesday because we got transfers tmr and welp me and my comp will be continuing to baptize in La Florida A for 6 more weeks so that's lit

But when I say this week was a sigh of relief it really was. A lot of stress preparing those 2 little angels to get baptized. It all started on Saturday night when we had another baptism in the ward and we couldn't drain the font for Sunday, so it was all cold water again, but our bishop came Sunday morning and brought some little machine that drained the font so that was a miracle. But then on Sunday morning, one of the little girls, Briseyda, DID NOT want to wake up. It was like 9:30 and she was still sleeping I was like bruh, but we prayed for a miracle and she finally woke up at like 9:45 and we haha ran to church with them. Got there right before they were about to bless the water haha, que milagro people

But they then finally got baptized after church on Sunday, and Valentina, one of the little girls, was TERRIFIED of the water, she was crying in the font, I was like there's no way. But she finally got the courage to get in and I just remember the feeling after they were confirmed just being like "thank goodness" I need a massage with this stress I'm taking in

But I wanted to end sharing you a crazy spiritual experience one of our friends in our área had which was NUTS. Her name is Sabrina, she's like 25, and we put her on date last week and she was progressing REALLY well. She was like insanely excited to accept a baptism date it was awesome. We made plans for Sunday and she was super hype to go to church. And then on Sunday morning we passed by and she wasn't in her house, it was super sad. So we passed by on Tuesday to figure out what happened and she told us what happened, I will not tell you guys what she experienced Saturday night...

So basically on Saturday night, she went to go fight with her ex boyfriend, idk she was mad at him who knows, but they got into a big argument and he ended up punching her in the face and the throat it was nuts. And at this point it was like 1 in the morning on Sunday, and she told us she was lying on the floor exhausted and like had an out of body experience. She said she heard a voice CLEAR as day speak to her and say "get up and go to your house, the boys are going to look for you, you need to go home" and she said every part of her wanted to move and go to her house but she was too exhausted and for that reason she didn't go to church. I remember when she told us that story, the spirit hit me like a train, like how elect is this lady, she's getting straight impressions from God, everyone pray for Sabrina!!!!!

But that was my week, times flying on the mish but we are vibin

Enemy Territory

Wow has anyone ever told you guys that being a missionary is MAD stressful and I testify of that

This week was all about La Familia Laòs!!! So we were planning their baptisms for this Sunday and the Mom ending up smoking so we had to push their date back for the 19th which was really sad and all the kids were sad we pushed their date back. But that being said Friday night for whatever reason President told our ZLs to tell us to baptize the kids without the mom and we were like "YUHHHH", hey I don't question president, so basically on Saturday we were getting all their interviews and everything for the baptism set up. Now that leads us to the most stressful day of the week.....Sunday

Sunday morning we pull up to the church at 7 am to fill the font, and we didn't have Hot water, we were like dude were screwed. But we figured it out real fast and then we figured out we didn't have any water. So then we figured out its because the water tank was empty so we started filling up the water tank and while that was happening we ran over to go check if the family was up and getting ready. So we pull up at 8:30, and the oldest son who's 17, Aaron, was up and going and he's like im ready to be baptized, straight capo, and we're like and ur fam, and hes like nah they had to go to the hospital yesterday and just got back and and hadn't gone to bed , and we're super tired and didn't want to go to church, so he tried waking them up like 4 times and they weren't budging, so we were like welp, I guess only Aaron is getting baptized today, so we told him we would come back in 30 minutes and bring him to church and meanwhile to do what he could to get them up....

So during these 30 minutes me and my comp were just questioning life and what happened, and by the time we come back the ENTIRE family was up and getting ready. Aaron like did something or God straight woke them up but it was a crazy miracle. But by the time we left their house it was like 15 minutes before church and we were a good 35 minutes walking, so we got their like 30 minutes late, but right before they blessed the water we pulled up and our nutty bishop was like "go give em the bread" so were able to take the bread and water for the sacrament. Miracle after miracle am I right...

Welp so turns out during these 2 hours the water tank wasn't filling up and we had ZERO water in the font, and we managed to get a little water in the font but it was FREEZING, the font literally went up to my shin it was bad, so idk how but Aaron being the stud he is was like baptized laying down it was nuts, and then the 2 little Girls tried and just couldn't do it. The water was too cold and there was basically none to work with. So after trying for like 20 minutes we ended up having to postpone the baptisms to next sunday so only Aaron was baptized and confirmed. But our bishop being the stud he is brought the family into his office after and idk what happened in that office but it lasted like almost an hour and they left SO HAPPY. Aaron was able to get his temple recommend and is going to recieve the priesthood next sunday (I think) So now we are trying to have Aaron baptize his family next Sunday!!!

That was my stressful week, pray we have water in our church Next sunday and that the mom can stop smoking!!!!!

The Power of A Testimony

One of the best weeks of the mission that is for sure, idk if I said this but training is dummy lit

I wanted to start off by why I named this email "The Power of a Testimony" So on Tuesday, me and my comp decided to pass by this One lady that has been getting taught by the missionaries for YEARS and has never been to church. I just wanted to see what was up with her. So we knock on her door and she comes out with the biggest smile and goes "I know you guys and love you guys but I've been baptized in another church and will NEVER change" So when I heard that I was about to leave and then she started talking about all these things wrong about her church and why she likes our church too and how all she wants is to find the true church, and I was like welp lets teach her the restoration...

So we teach her the restoration and me and my comp just let the most powerful testimonies. I kid you not for an hour we were just testifying about how this is the ONLY true church, and how if she wants to find the truth she has to read the book of mormon and ask God. So then I go to give her a book of mormon and she goes I won't read your book, I was like bruh you will never find the truth if she never try. So we were just testifying about how this book is true and she goes I won't read the book. At this point I thought smh and I was like welp i tried, and we go to walk away and she goes "no I don't get it, you guys are so convinced you are in the true church, I promise you this Sunday I will go to church, rain, snow, I don't care, and if im not there it means I died" Haha me and my comp just had the biggest smile and were like YUH BET(you did not pull up to church) but its just a reminder how a testimony can literally change someone's life (not gonna lié felt like Abinadi for a minute after that experience)

But lets get to the good part of the week, we found the most ELECT family I've ever seen. On Tuesday we passed by this one old guy we were teaching, and we were teaching him, and his daughter who's like 40 years old walks out and goes "pass by later I need to talk with you guys" So we passed by in the afternoon and we met Lisbet and she walked out and she goes "I wanna change my life what do I do?" We read her a quick Alma 7:14 and she goes I needa be baptized! Were like yuh, so we slapped her on date and we go how many live in this house, and she's like there's like 20 that live with me👀, and I got 3 kids that are 8,11, and 17 years old👀 So we passed by the next day and put the 8 year old on date then on Thursday put the 11 and 17 year old on date. This family is just ready! They all pulled up to church and loved it, the 17 year old literally was asking us how he wants to serve a mission and go to the temple!!!!! They all have a baptismal date for next Sunday

Not gonna lié, the family almost didn't wake up on Sunday, we passed by at 8:15 to wake them up for church, and there drunk grandpa was outside haha (still awake from the previous night) and this GOAT basically kept going into the house to wake the family up, and he kept coming backing and saying "they won't wake up" but he was so drunk we just kept sending him back to wake them up and after the fourth time they woke up haha. Gotta love them drunk people Sunday morning.

Forgot to take pictures lowkey, but I'll be better...
